Waistline Wednesday : My P90X3 Progress

My

Journey so far...
Today is Day 27 and close enough to my 30 day mark that I decided to take pictures to see if I could tell any difference from Day 1 to today.

Day 1

Day 27

I feel like I look more muscular -- my measurements haven't changed much...my body fat has gone down 2% and I've lost 6 lbs.

What do you all think?  Can you see a difference??

Waistline Wednesday: The beginning of my P90X3 journey

Waistline Wednesday

The beginning of my P90X3 journey...

So, as you all can see by reading, I didn't finish my third round of Chalean Extreme...not that I didn't want to, but my husband gifted us with P90X3 for Christmas. For us to work out together...

First, let's just say, he's not a big fitness person, he used to be -- but grad school and the trials of marriage and two kids in 5 years, he has lost his love for it...so, I was thrilled when he surprised me with the program! And, decided that whenever he was ready, we would start the program.  He chose the start date of January 9, 20134- then got sick, haha. So, we officially began the program on Monday, January 13, 2014 together.

Here are MY before pictures taken on January 12, 2014. (He asked that I not share his with the world...YET.)

My measurements are as follows:

Weight: 140
Chest: 34.5"
Waist: 28"
Love Handles: 35.25"
Hips: 39"
R Thigh: 22.5"
L Thigh: 22.75"
R Bicep: 11"
L Bicep: 11"
R Calf: 14"
L Calf: 14"

I pretty well maintained my weight through the holidays, my measurements went up though, so I will be working to get THOSE numbers down.

Motivation Monday: What motivates YOU?!

Motivation Monday

What motivates you to pursue a dream, achieve a goal, step outside of your comfort zone?? I know that for me, seeing others achieve success in their professional/personal life helps to motivate me to emulate their success in my own life. It's not so much a competition with them as it is with myself. To be stronger, better, faster, more efficient, more fit, more healthy, just MORE than I was the previous day.  It's not about power, money, fame, etc. for me -- it's about the challenge with myself.

For example, right now, as you all know, I am pursuing my goal of completing ChaLEAN Extreme again and getting 10 lbs off of me by New Years. I still have 7 lbs to get to that goal and only a few weeks to do it. I know that my eating hasn't been 100% and my workouts this past week were less than perfect -- so over the next 3 weeks, I will be very strict with my diet and really push myself with my workouts to reach my goal!

I also have a business goal of reaching Diamond rank in my Beachbody business by New Years. In order to do that, I will have to not only step outside of my comfort zone in speaking to new people, but actually discussing the business side of Beachbody with them. It's one of those things that make me nervous -- so much so that I break out in a sweat. I WILL do it, though, because I have committed to the goal -- not only to myself, but to others close to me.

So, I ask YOU -- what motivates you to do what you do?  Leave me a comment below -- I love to hear about what makes others tick. :)

Transformation Tuesday: John R.

Transformation Tuesday: John R.

"I have always been morbidly obese. Deep down, I knew that. But to me, being fat was more about not being able to find clothes I liked because I could only wear 4X-large, having zero self-esteem, hating the way I looked, being always chronically tired, and yeah, being totally ashamed of the way I looked.

But the fact that I was morbidly—as in death—obese didn’t sink in until my mother died from a heart attack and my sister fell into a coma because of her type 2 diabetes. That’s when I knew I had bigger problems than just finding clothes that fit.

So I promised myself that one day I’d do P90X. Seriously—that was my goal. But I was afraid. A friend of mine who was a Beachbody Coach said that Power 90 would be a great place to start. At 467 lbs., it was tough. But I stayed with it. I modified. I struggled. I did push-ups on my knees. And I kept at it because I was seeing results, reaching goals, and crushing the “I can’t do it” beliefs that had held me back for so long.

And finally, I was ready for P90X. It was hardcore, intense, extreme, and it worked.

So far, I’ve lost over 200 lbs. I’ve gone from a size 56 pants to a size 38, thanks to Power 90 and P90X. I’m healthier, happier, and I’m finally proud of the man I see in the mirror.

Best of all, I’m not stopping. At 264 lbs., I know I still have a way to go. But I’m determined to make it. " - John

Transformation Tuesday: Migdalia G.

Transformation Tuesday: Migdalia G.

Having a heart attack at the age of 33 wasn't exactly on my bucket list. But my body couldn’t handle the 215 pounds it was carting around, so it crashed. I wasn’t ready to die at 33. And my two daughters and my husband weren’t ready for me to leave them either. So you’d think going into cardiac arrest would be my big wake up call, but it wasn’t. I still ate like crap, I still made excuses why I had no time to exercise, and I was still fat.

Fast-forward to a short time later…I was driving my two daughters across town when I had a high blood pressure episode so bad that I passed out. Lucky for everyone, I pulled over just in time. My girls were hysterical and thought I was dying. After that, the doctor put me on high blood pressure meds—FOR LIFE! That was it. I knew if I kept up my current lifestyle, I’d be dead in no time. And my family deserved more from me.

So when I say that Beachbody saved my life, I mean it literally. 10-Minute Trainer was fast, easy, and effective. And in only 10 minutes a day, not only did I become stronger and thinner, this program left me begging for more! Pretty soon, I worked my way up to exercising 30 minutes a day and felt amazing.

And in two short months…15 pounds, gone. Depression, GONE! Blood pressure, back to normal. And my HDL and LDL levels are better than ever. But the result I love the most is how my belly shrunk. Being able to wear skinny jeans again is the best feeling ever!!! Plus, my arms are showing some definition and I no longer feel tired all the time. My girls now work out with me and are my biggest cheerleaders. I’m so energized every day that after work I play with them and still have enough energy to PUSH PLAY!!! Finally, I feel strong, sexy, and healthy.

But exercising daily was only part of my success formula. The other half was learning how to eat right and drinking my Shakeology daily. When it comes to a clean, healthy diet, here’s the deal: (1) I don't like vegetables, (2) I’m addicted to chocolate, and (3) I have no time to cook breakfast or stop for lunch. So the combination of Shakeology and ActiVit Multivitamins solved my three problems and made me not only lose weight, but also improved my regularity, my focus, and got rid of my depression in the FIRST WEEK.

Shakeology’s so convenient and so delicious that I don't even feel like I am on a “diet”—I absolutely love this stuff! Now I’ve lost my cravings for sweets and chocolate, and feel confident that my nutrition is the best ever. So far I’ve lost 15 lbs., my pulse went from 110 at rest to 60, my blood pressure went from 150/100 to 110/70, and my iron levels rose from 9 to 14. Everybody asks me what I've done! So I tell them—with a huge smile.
